Fake AI Investment Bots
"Guaranteed returns" trading bots and crypto schemes that claim to use AI to beat the market.
See All Red FlagsThis is a very old scam — the guaranteed-returns investment pitch — wearing new, more convincing packaging. Adding the word "AI" to a trading bot or investment platform gives an old con a technological-sounding justification for why it supposedly works, which is often enough to get past the skepticism a plain Ponzi pitch would trigger.
The core tell hasn't changed regardless of the AI framing: genuine investments carry genuine risk, and no legitimate trading system — AI-powered or otherwise — can guarantee consistent, high returns. Markets don't work that way, and any pitch claiming otherwise is making a claim that should be disqualifying on its own.
These schemes often use fabricated account dashboards showing fake growing balances to build trust before the eventual request for a larger deposit or an attempted withdrawal that mysteriously fails, by which point the funds are gone.
- The giveaway: Guaranteed or consistently high returns — the AI label doesn't change this red flag.
- What to check: Is this a regulated, licensed platform? Can you verify it independently, off their own site?
- Red flag: Pressure to deposit more after seeing fake gains in a dashboard.
- Rule of thumb: If it sounds too good to be true, the AI branding doesn't make it true.
